House System
A traditional feature of many British schools is the placement of students in groups called Houses. The House system exists mainly to create an atmosphere of healthy competition, leadership and teamwork among students. Every student at HIS will be placed in one of four houses. Each of the Houses is named after a mythical winged creature. Each of these mythical birds represent certain noble characteristics and virtues which students are expected to inculcate and emulate. The names, respective symbols of the Houses and their key characteristics are as follows:
