For many, sixth form acts as a stepping stone towards enrolling into their dream university. The two years equip the students with extensive knowledge in their respective subjects and grant them the opportunities to utilise their knowledge in real life.
What’s more ideal than the unique sixth form studies (SFS) programme offered by HIS for students to enhance their knowledge in projects, research, competitions? The SFS programme heightens students’ potential beyond academics, allowing them to explore different areas of interests, integrating them with academics and gain comprehensive knowledge from diverse areas, like arts, STEM, commerce, and more. A pure science student like me is able to pursue economics and expand my knowledge in biology all with SFS!
The in-house internships provided by HIS are tailor-made for students to apply their knowledge in a professional environment. It provides them exposure to the real working world, preparing them for adulthood. There is a wide variety of internships available for you to choose from, including science tutor, Malay tutor, lab assistant, Ed-tech assistant, and even working in HIS’ MARCOMM department! The internships allow you to not just transfer your prior knowledge in a practical setting, they also grant you the precious chance to learn from professionals. The hands-on experience and gaining theoretical knowledge beyond the classroom are priceless. It is the perfect opportunity to curate a distinctive, holistic portfolio that appeals to universities!
The stress caused and time consumed by the university applications process can be overwhelming for many. However, in HIS, it would not be a concern with our excellent support system from the university counsellors, teachers and senior leadership team (SLT). They are experienced and qualified professionals who guide students throughout the process and provide them with useful advice and assistance.
Have you checked out HIS’ most recent outstanding A-Level 2021 results? A total of 127 Year 12 and Year 13 students sat for the A-Level exams across 15 subjects and 96% achieved A*-C, 90% A*-B and 75% A*-A! Wondering where these phenomenal students are now? Only with the exceptional and constant guidance and support from HIS, have they been able to go above and beyond reaching Cambridge, Berkeley, UCLA and more!
Last but not least, HIS is absolutely an ideal school for international students. One of numerous reasons for my enrollment at HIS was their incredible pastoral support, in how well and efficiently they aided in getting guardian and student visa passes for my mother and myself. As an international student, this is one of the biggest upsides, as without visas, it is not possible for me to study here! Through the school, our student and guardian passes were not only done so aptly, but quite fast as well! They assisted us in getting the letter of approval for our visa from the Ministry of Education (MOE). With the extensive support from them at this stage, we were able to relax and get it done fast without any extra obstacles. You may wonder won’t other colleges aid the same way in this process? And how does the support from HIS stand out? Well, most colleges don’t assist you with guardian passes! Most of all, HIS wants their students and parents to feel comfortable at the school, as if a home for them, and offers this by aiding them extensively in this process. It is only with their help that we felt at ease regarding the whole visa procedure! HIS surpasses expectations as usual and always goes the extra mile!
